Starting with the Lee USA Speedway
event of April 25, 2004, Channell One Video is
producing their race event DVDs with full
interactive menus.
This is another major upgrade
to enhance the viewer's experience, as now you can
go directly to the race you want to watch or repeat.
Also, it allows the viewer to skip from race to
race, as each race is a separate "chapter".

SPEEDY AWARDS a Major Highlight for Channell
One Video in Their 36 Years
At the recent Speedway EXPO, New England’s
largest auto racing trade show in many
years, Speedway Illustrated presented the
inaugural “SPEEDY” awards. According to the
national publication’s Executive Editor,
Dick Berggren, these awards are “. . .
destined to be among the most prestigious in
northeast racing. Those who win a SPEEDY in
the first round, will become part of our
history.” The three day EXPO was held at the
Eastern States Exposition in Springfield,
Massachusetts.
Included in this first annual ceremony, a
Lifetime
Achievement Award for Outstanding
Contribution to the Sport
was presented to Bill Channell of Channell
One Video. Speedway Illustrated’s Editor,
Karl Fredrickson, introduced the
presentation by reading the nomination,
which included generous accolades, such as,
“. . . his unequaled ability to cover the
not just the race, but the racing.” and
“Bill’s work is brilliant.” Dick Berggren
was on hand to personally present the award
to an emotional Channell.
According to Bill Channell, “Over the years,
we’ve been fortunate to pick up a few awards
for our videos and television series, but
this means so much more to me. It implies
that I’ve been able to give something back
to my passion. This is very special.”
