RaceTime Quality
Those qualities are on the other
side of the camera as well. Bill Channell began shooting video in
1971, six years before the invention of VHS. Over the years, he has
produced many projects, including the nationally syndicated
television series “Ski Week”, which enjoyed a successful ten year
run.
Among the awards it won, was a special state commendation from
then Governor John Sununu. During the 70s, Channell took up road
racing with the Sports Car Club of America, winning the North
Atlantic Road Racing Championship in 1977. In 1987, combining his
expertise in video with his passion for racing, he took on the task
of documenting and preserving this era of short track racing.
RaceTime
Experience
Working with the concept of “Not just the race . . . but the
racing”, Bill Channell has guided Channell One Video through many
levels to arrive at RaceTime. Over the last sixteen years, they’ve
covered thousands of feature races, at almost every track in New
England, as well as other tracks as far away as Florida.
Their
productions have won three Gold Wheel Awards at the Sprint Car Hall
of Fame International Film Festival, in Knoxville, Iowa, (racing’s
version of the Emmy), including the “Best Made-for-Television
Production” award for the 2001 RaceTime series,
"Best Video of the Year" and
second place in "Best Television Show of the Year" from the Eastern
Motorsports Press Association, plus "Videographer of the Year" four
years in a row, from the Race Videographers Association.
