Auto racing has become this country’s
leading spectator sport, and ratings for racing on
television are at an all time high. RaceTime focus
aims at the core
of the race fan demographic, local racing.
RaceTime is a weekly, half-hour television series from the award
winning production team of Channell One Video. For its second
season,
it is being aired again on NESN, the New England Sports
Network. It is scheduled for a minimum of 26 weeks, starting June
7th, and the series is unique in many ways.
Each show has only six minutes of commercial time, much less than
today's typical programming. They're grouped into three breaks of
only
two minutes each, keeping interruptions to a minimum, and
thereby keeping viewers attention through commercials and all.
Also,
the participation of local race teams before and after each
commercial break, has become an extremely popular, and much
anticipated, part of the series. Race fans also appreciate the
quality and total coverage of their favorite sport. By featuring
only one race track per show, viewers get a better feel for the
facility, and experience the full variety of action that is offered
there.
Other series predetermine which class they'll cover, and hope they
do not have a boring race. RaceTime covers every class running that
day,
then picks the best race of the event, to be shown flag-to-flag
as the “Race of the Week”. Highlights of all other feature races are
also shown. This insures coverage for all classes that run, plus
guarantees that the viewers experience great racing every week.
